Your setup, step by step.

Take a moment with each step. If anything feels unexpected, pause and verify instructions through Ledger’s official website.

Unbox and inspect

Check the box and device for signs of damage or tampering. If anything looks unusual, stop and contact Ledger Support through ledger.com.

02 / 04

Connect your device

Use the supplied cable, or follow the in-box instructions for your model. Confirm that the display turns on and follow only the prompts shown on the device itself.

Set up your recovery phrase

Your device generates a recovery phrase during setup. Write it on the supplied recovery sheet and keep it private and offline. Never photograph it or enter it on a website.

01 — SECURITY PRINCIPLE

Self-custody starts with you

Your recovery phrase can restore access to your crypto. Anyone who gets it may be able to control your assets, so keep it secret and physically secure.

02 — SECURITY PRINCIPLE

Verify on the device

Review and approve transactions on your Ledger screen. A computer or phone can display information, but your device is where you confirm what you sign.

03 — SECURITY PRINCIPLE

Stay alert to impersonators

Ledger will never ask you to share your recovery phrase. Reject unexpected messages, support calls, QR codes, and websites requesting it.
